Individual sessions are designed to provide high-quality dedicated time to our clients so that they can receive the time and attention they need from their therapist to progress in their current goals.
Group sessions may be available for clients who can benefit from peer interactions and social success while working on their therapy goals.
Evaluations require time with your child to conduct formal as well as informal assessments, and assessment interpretation and report writing time. Parent/caregiver interview is sometimes required as well.
Articulation only evaluation (with written report): Articulation evaluations use formalized assessment tools to look at your child’s speech sound development.
Receptive and expressive language evaluation (with written report): receptive and expressive language evaluations look at all areas of receptive and expressive language. Assessment areas and materials are determined by the speech language pathologist, depending on what each child’s needs are.
Comprehensive language evaluation (with written report): Comprehensive evaluations look at articulation as well as receptive and expressive language and all other areas of language (fluency, oral motor, etc).
If your child has had a formal speech-language evaluation by a qualified professional elsewhere in the last 3 months, this may be used in place of having him/her be re-evaluated by Shine On! as long as it is deemed appropriate to begin services. Please keep in mind that there is the possibility that additional testing may be recommended in order to best serve your child’s needs.
A consultation is used when the speech language pathologist is needed to advise parents/caregivers/educators on ways to support your child’s speech-language development. Consultations may be requested any time during a child’s treatment, or before beginning treatment.
Any additional services as requested by parent, such as progress reports for insurance companies, review of goals, preparation of individualized materials, letters to insurance companies, etc. may incur additional fees.
